Seasons Greetings from Burlap & Lace!

IMG_9666In this day and age of  ever-increasing technology, I’m sure my old-fashioned ways often rise to the surface and my sons grimace. But there is one thing I hope never goes out of style, and that is good, old-fashioned paper.  Why?  Because there is just something special about giving and receiving an unexpected card from a friend or loved one. Come on now, admit it….it beats Instagram any day!  You may have to wait for it (you know delivering mail still takes effort and time), but when you get that fabulous card, you somehow want to savor it a while.  Thus, the reason for my making this greeting board.

Ok, so you don’t like keeping things like that.  No worries!  Use the board to leave notes (greetings, if you will) for your family!  Put it by the front door so they won’t miss the sticky note that says “please unload the dishwasher after school”, or “I love your painting”….attached to your child’s artwork.  Be creative with this one!

IMG_9644 Need some simple decorations?  How about some garland?  These sprigs vary in size from 4′ to 12′ and are perfect for wrapping a banister, a mantle, a window…..or to scrunch into a bucket for an extra softening splash of greenery!   Toss a pillow or two on your couch, grab a tree to put on your tabletop (I have 3 sizes) and call it good!

IMG_9234These little burlap wrapped trees are perfect to stuff inside a pitcher, a bucket or to set on a shelf…..

IMG_9645LOVE this vintage woodstove….stuffed with faux evergreen here at the shop, but trim your tree and add real limbs for that woodland smell all through the winter months!

IMG_9654This idea calls for some imagination, but  you know how I like thinking outside of the box!  This vintage suitcase is the perfect size for a small blanket, some paper plates, and a picnic for your day’s adventure with the family!  It even has stitched in elastic holders perfect for silverware!  I can just imagine how wonderful your adventure will be….

And stoop low to find a really good find!  This white-handled silverware would fit perfectly inside!  Talk about a gift already made….

For the romantic, toss a bottle of wine into a jingle bell wine bag, tuck that inside as well and off you go!

Need a new table setting this year?  Try some vintage plates topped with pine cones. (And note that faux tree in the great rusty bucket!).  Simplicity works!  Or simply add a couple fun mugs to the mix….

IMG_9410How about another idea for the grandkids’ toys this year?  Tuck them inside this vintage hamper in any room….makes a great statement piece and what a deal!

IMG_9028Candles make great stocking stuffers….just sayin’!

IMG_9669Yes, they light up!  Talk about being the talk of the neighborhood with these reindeer!

IMG_6736And for the hard to buy for person, why not a gift to make them smile?!?  Ignore the “redeemable in month issued only”.  They are actually good for one month from date of purchase….$20 and $50 increments available!  Again, a great stocking stuffer idea!

So from this ‘ol house to yours…..greetings, and

~Blessings,

Connie
