From my grandmother’s attic came this piece….the heat having added a nearly 30 year crackle to it’s finish.  I began the work of cleaning it first, then sanding and removing hardware.

The drawers were the worst for wear, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that they were in near perfect condition, despite the heat!

After much sanding and a few coats of paint, I added a stain to get the look I desired.  Next I replaced the hardware and the finished product reminded me a bit of myself….time-worn and faded, but still of value when cleaned up a bit!
